Our Team of Instructors

Our lead instructor at Góes Jiu-Jitsu is Allan Góes, a retired Brazilian MMA fighter. Góes began practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a seven-year-old in the late 1970s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with his grandfather, Alcides Góes, a renowned judo master. At the age of 12, he joined the Carlson Gracie Team and embraced the sport of Jiu-Jitsu as a profession and lifestyle. He received his black belt from Carlson Gracie himself at age 18.

By the age of 19, Góes had fought more than 200 Jiu-Jitsu fights with only one loss, and had been World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion eight times. He then moved to the United States to begin his career as a professional MMA fighter. He had more than 30 career professional fights, and upon retiring, he began focusing on training the next generation of Jiu Jitsu fighters.
